At present,international competition is intensifying and the changes in the global governance system and international order are accelerating,so our country needs to train a large number of high-level comprehensive professionals who can adapt to the new global pattern and understand international rules.At the same time,new technological revolutions such as the Internet and big data have profoundly changed the way of production and life of human beings,and brought the rapid development of new industries and new business models,which has put forward new demands on higher education in terms of talent training,requiring the cultivation of new talents with more comprehensive knowledge,integration of disciplines and stronger practical ability.At present,China is at the critical period of building a modern country and achieving the second hundred-year goal,and based on the new era,the government has strategically proposed the construction goals of new engineering,new medicine,new agriculture and new liberal arts.2020 Declaration on the Construction of New Liberal Arts clearly defines the concept,principles and tasks of new liberal arts,emphasising that "new liberal arts The "New Liberal Arts" is not only tasked with cultivating new types of liberal arts professionals,but also with the mission of cultivating people with culture,shaping character,cultivating morality,and enhancing critical thinking and aesthetic ability from a high level of worldview and values.Science and engineering universities have the important task of nurturing a large number of high-quality human resources with solid professional skills,innovative thinking and a sense of homeland-and-country-love,who can actively adapt to the waves of globalisation.Science and engineering universities must respond to the changes in the mode of knowledge production and the need for the integration of disciplines,take advantage of the interdisciplinary integration of arts and sciences,accelerate the change in the mode of talent training,and cultivate comprehensive and innovative liberal arts talents.This paper adopts literature research method,case study method and empirical investigation method,with "the Cultivation Model of Liberal Arts Talents Based on Interdisciplinary Integration in Science and Technology Universities" as the selected topic,to study the current situation and problems of interdisciplinary talent cultivation in science and engineering universities under the background of new liberal arts,and explore the institutional mechanism and innovative mode of talent cultivation based on interdisciplinary integration.The study is divided into four parts.Firstly,it introduces the reasons for the selection of the topic and puts forward the research questions from the aspects of the domestic and international situations and the needs of the development of new science and technology and new industries;then it reviews and composes the research results of previous scholars,defines and discerns the core concepts,analyzes the feasibility of the theory of knowledge production mode change in this study,and provides the theoretical foundation for this study.Secondly,through questionnaires and interviews,we understand the current situation of disciplinary integration in the construction of liberal arts,as well as the current situation and problems of discipline-integrated and project-based cultivation of liberal arts students,and explore how to improve students’ comprehensive quality and practical ability in the context of the new liberal arts construction.Then,through case studies,we learn about the initiatives of integration of talents cultivation in liberal arts in universities of science and technology,analyze and compare the organization mode,operation mode and cultivation mode in the process of talents cultivation,as well as the required policy conditions and guarantee mechanisms,and then learn about the experience and inspiration of integration of talents cultivation in liberal arts with other disciplines in the case universities.Finally,on the basis of the above research,suggestions are offered to further deepen the countermeasures for promoting integration talents cultivation in liberal arts in science and engineering universities from three aspects:government,universities and society. |
