Lesson plans can reflect the professional quality and teaching style of a primary English teacher. Writing a lesson plan carefully is a significant way to enhance the quality of classroom teaching. There are few empirical researches on the writing of lesson plans at home and abroad, and fewer researches on the writing of lesson plans from the primary English perspective. Thus, the study analyzes the current situation of the writing of primary English lesson plans by using the methods of questionnaire survey, interview,textual analysis and the example of primary English teachers in Changsha to enrich the previous studies. The study discusses as follows.The first part is the introduction, it mainly describes the previous studies based on the reason of choosing this research topic and research significance. And it defines the core concepts of lesson plans, writing, the writing of lesson plans and primary English.The second part is the theoretical basis of the writing of primary English lesson plans. After describes the theory introduction of the lesson plans and the characteristics of primary English lesson plans, it explains the connotation of the several parts of a lesson plan and how to write these component. It provide the theoretical basis for this study.The third part is the study design, introduce the objects of study, research methods, the research procedure.The fourth part is the survey results and analysis of the writing of primary English lesson plans. It analyzes component parts of the lesson plans one by one firstly. Next, it concludes the problems of the writing of primary English lesson plans as a whole. Finally, for the problems of the writing of primary English lesson plans, it analyzes the causes from the teacher and school management perspective.The fifth part is the suggestions. For the main problems and causes of the writing of primary English lesson plans, it puts forward a four-point proposal.The last part is conclusion. It mainly analyzes the insufficient and give the direction of future researches.
