The relationship between schooling educational attainment and the socio-economic status of individuals has been one of the academic themes and social concerns,and appears is more and more increasingly paid attention to with the emergence of the new " Knowledge is Useless" theory.In this regard,the researchers use several the points to ponder over and analyze the relationship,including view from an economic investment-earnings,pedagogic learning habitus,class and social capital,institutional change like sociology and political science perspective.In these studies,the researchers believe that education is still a closely relevant part of obtaining the socio-economic status;family background is closely related to access to attain education and has become an important factor in regulating the social and economic status.Therefore,from this perspective,this paper studys the variance/difference of filial socioeconomic status with different education,and that how educational level of parents have influence on education attainment and socioeconomic status of offspring.In view of the purpose and nature of the research study explaining the causal relationship and apply f orces and the need for representative large sample statistics datas,on basis of Chinese General Social Survey data(CGSS2003 / CGSS2013),this research takes quantitative research,such as multiple regression,path analysis analytical methods and so on,analyses relationship and interaction effect between socioeconomic status and degree of parent children about educational attainment as independent variables.Specifically,we use the data from the China survey and data centers hosted by the Renmin University of China General Social Survey(CGSS2003 / CGSS2013)project.2003 data is as the main analytical data source from statistical data,and 2013 statistical data is for tracking comparative data.The project made individual investigations the country 125 c ounties(districts),500 streets(township),1000(villages)committees,10000 households for a period of ten years since 2003 once a year.This article would define three indicators containing the individual's total annual income survey,occupational prestige and self-identity or absence of identity led as dependent variable,meanwhile,the two indicators containing offspring educational status and parental education status as exogenous variables by means of multiple regression,path analysis methods.In this regard,this paper mainly proposes three hypotheses,namely:First,different education of children leads to different income,occupational prestige,power status.Educational status of children includes higher education,and years of education and sc hool ranks and the like.Secondly,education level of parents by the Education progeny affects individual total annual income of offspring,occupational prestige and "leadership status" a symbol of power,that is to say,different educational level of parents accompanied different children educational status.It means that higher income level is more easy to obtain higher income,higher occupational prestige and higher leadership.After analysing the model for the 2003 and 2013 data,we drew following conclusions:Overall,the level of education obtained of their offspring are positively correlated with income levels and leadership status,educational status of parents are positively correlated with offspring socio-economic status attainment.The results of the analysis shows that gender,age and educational status is significant correlation with offspring power attainment.This means that the "reading" is still useful.Education has become an important impetus of the knowledge economy,it is also an important channel for higher social status and higher income levels through self-knowledge.2013 value differ from 2003 on the evaluation of occupational prestige.2013 datas show that the state of education less affected professional prestige.This is not irrelevant to distribution system of education away from the planned economy and a diversified career path are all related.Ten years later,the offspring of their educational status remains act on socio-economic situation,but this action is descending and parent influence is weakening.Progeny and parental education status is positively correlated with offspring leadership identity attainment.This shows that modern society requires knowledge and corresponding management talents as leaders.Finally,the author pointed out the shortcomings and innovation in this article and noted direction on the deepening of future research.
