Junior high school is an important period of individual development, which takes learning as its main task.It is particularly important for students to learn independently. Our country now pays more and more attention to the development of quality education,in which autonomy is the soul of the further development of quality education.Learning autonomy means that students’ learning activities are carried out autonomously under the drive of internal motivation, and they can manage, feedback and adjust themselves in learning. As for the study of learning autonomy, previous studies mostly focused on students’ own factors, ignoring the role of family factors. As we all know, the family,as a proximal system that affects the development of students,is of great significance to the growth and development of young people.Family socio-economic status is an important factor affecting learning autonomy, but the impact of family socio-economic status on autonomous learning ability may not be direct. In this period of teenagers, considering the different measuring tools and methods of family economic status and autonomous learning ability, how to affect it remains to be further studied. In this study,593 students from grade one to grade three in junior high school were selected as the research objects by using the questionnaire of family socio-economic status, the questionnaire of parents’ expectations, the questionnaire of learning autonomy, and the learning motivation scale as research tools to explore the relationship between family socio-economic status and junior high school students’ autonomous learning ability, and further test whether parents’ expectations and learning motivation play a chain intermediary role in it.This study mainly draws the following conclusions:(1)The autonomous learning ability of junior high school students is different in different genders, grades and home locations.Specifically, girls’ self-evaluation and self reinforcement abilities are significantly higher than boys’;Compared with grade two and grade three, grade one students’ autonomous learning ability is higher;Compared with rural areas, students living in cities have higher autonomous learning ability.(2)Parents’ expectations are significantly different in different children’s grades and family locations.Specifically, compared with the second and third grade students, the parents of the first grade students have higher expectations;Parents who live in cities have higher expectations.(3)There are significant differences in junior high school students’ learning motivation in their grades and home locations.Specifically, compared with Grade Two and Grade Three,Grade One students show higher learning motivation;Rural students’ external learning motivation is significantly higher than urban junior high school students, urban junior high school students’ self-efficacy is significantly higher than rural junior high school students.(4)Family socioeconomic status is positively correlated with parents’ expectation, learning motivation and autonomous learning ability.Parental expectation plays a part of intermediary role between family socio-economic status and adolescents’ autonomous learning ability, while parental expectation and learning motivation play a chain intermediary role between family socio-economic status and adolescents’ autonomous learning ability.Based on the above research results, this paper puts forward the following suggestions for parents:(1)Parents should establish expectations scientifically and reasonably.First of all, parents should establish a scientific concept of parenting and make reasonable expectations according to the actual situation of children.Secondly, parents should have positive expectations for children and feedback their expectations to children. Finally, parents should help their children make specific plans to achieve their expectations.(2)Parents should pay attention to cultivating children’s independent learning ability. For example, parents should cultivate teenagers’ independence and autonomy, create a harmonious family environment for them, and help them learn independent learning strategies.(3)Parents should properly stimulate children’s learning motivation, protect their curiosity and desire to explore in daily life, and make good use of rewards and praise.
