This thesis studies the impact of teachers' personality traits on students'learning motivation in mid-level occupational schools. Various methods such as literature survey, questionnaire study, interviewing method and case study are adopted to investigate the current status of teachers'personality traits and students'learning motivation. The correlation between teachers'personality traits and students'learning motivation is investigated, based on which we further explore the strategies on how to better influence students'learning motivation. Our thesis has the following conclusions:(1) The overall status of teachers'personality traits is relatively stable. Variance analysis shows that there is no significant difference in the "big five" personality traits for teachers of different gender, age, and disciplines. Teachers with different titles shows little different in four personality traits apart from the "agreeableness" trait, in which the assistant lecturer shows the highest score, followed by senior lecturer and lecturer.(2) Based on data obtained from the "Simple measures for learning motivation", we find that the average learning motivation of students scores 22.54, which indicates a mediocre level.(3) Based on the questionnaire feedback from students, we find that the all the five personality traits of teachers have significant correlations to the learning motivation of students. Among the five traits, "openness" and "neuroticism" are the two most important predictors on students'learning motivation.(4) Students interview and case studies reveal that all aspects of teachers'personality traits have subtle but continuing influence on students'learning motivation.
