Correlation Of Personality Traits And Athletics Level Of Teenage Male Vollyball Players

With the progress of science and technology,competitive sports are also moving towards professionalization.Scientific selection as the beginning of competitive sports has an irreplaceable role.In high-level competitions,psychological factors are often the key to the success of competitions,especially in the early stage of athletes' training.Personality is the sum of stable psychological characteristics within a person.To a certain extent,it can predict athletes' sports behavior,and personality has stability and heredity.In this paper,the participants of the 17-18 year-old men's volleyball team of the Youth Department of the Nineteenth Games were investigated.The correlation between the personality characteristics and the competitive level of the athletes was taken as the research object.The personality characteristics of the athletes were investigated by using the Cattell Sixteen Personality Factor Scale.At the same time,the technical statistics of the athletes were made as the criteria to measure their competitive level.The relationship between athletes' personality characteristics and their competitive level was analyzed.The following conclusions are drawn:(1)There is no significant difference in personality characteristics between the main players and the substitutes.(2)There are differences in personality characteristics of juvenile volleyball players in different positions.Specifically,there are significant differences in F excitement,Q1 experimentation and Q4 tension among juvenile volleyball players in different positions.In F excitability score,setter > ace spiker > libero > second spiker > second setter;in Q1 experimental score,second setter > libero > chief spiker > second spiker > setter;in Q4 tense score,libero > chief spiker > second setter > setter > second spiker.(3)There is correlation between personality characteristics and competitive level of juvenile volleyball players in different positions.The study concludes that there is a correlation between the personality characteristics of young male volleyball players and their competitive level,and the personality characteristics of young male volleyball players should be taken into account in the selection of athletes.
