By denying the teaching idea of “textbooks equal to resources”,the new round of the national curriculum reform requires teachers to be adept in developing and applying music curr iculum resources so as to ensure the divers ity,flexibility and localization of teaching resources.T he latest Music Curriculum Standards point out that as to music educa tion,local schools should,ba sed on local cultural and geographical environments and cultural traditions,make full use of local curriculum resources to produce a sound music environment both inside and outside school and enrich teaching contents characteristic of local culture and traditional culture,and develop music curriculum resources with local,ethnic and school features.As a large agricultural country,agriculture has been laid as a basis of China and its social structure in the long course of history.Thus,the boom of culture can not be achieved without land as the base.With progressing urbanization,rich local cultural resources inparticular country music,the most representative one,have kept vanishing,thus being in dire need of care and protection.Against such a background,it is po ssible to ca rry forward,unearth and protec t local cultural resources by combining them with elem entary education.Meanwhile,their cultural value an d function can be brought into full p lay,and will be conducive to cultivating students’ recognition of local culture and understanding of traditional culture.By integrating country music and experimental teaching,the essay elaborates on and puts forward the necessity and im portance of the research.It gives an overall summary and assessment of studies relevant to the developm ent of country m usic curriculum both home and abroad,and the ap plication of experimental teaching in music teaching by referring to related works and documents.On the basis of existent researches,the autho r interprets an d defines the concept,f eatures,purposes and models of experimental teaching of country music to lay a theoretical framework.Through a research of middle school stude nts’ interest in m usic learning in Huanan County,the essay documents the status quo of its music education,identifies existing problems in middle school music education in the countryside and analyzes reasons.The author puts forth that it’s necessary to conduct a com prehensive curriculum design by combining the features of country music and construe a basic curriculum system.By doing so,the author ex pects that the essay can play a role in nurturing students’ music accomplishments and present so me insights into th e protection of country music by m eans of developing experim ental curriculum resources of country music.
