Causal cognition is the core and fundamental role for people understanding the objective world.Training of causal inference has significant improvement on childem’s reasoning capacity.As a general,there are several key steps for individual’s casual inference.Firstly,both reason and result should be focused.Secondly,it is necessary to be aware of the relationship of result and reason and to infer their causal relation model.Last but not least,it should verify the causal relationship.Children’s causal cognition is a significant component of cognitive development.Also,children’s causal inference is a very critical ability to promote the effects of learning new knowledge and skills in their daily life.A wide variety of studies focus on the common children’s causal inference.However,thecase studies on children with mental retardation are rarely involved at domestic and foreign.Based on critical review of literatures and training,this study wants to explore proper training material and causal inference examining table for children with moderate mental retardation.By using single subject study method,two children have been designed by A-B-A experiment.The causal inference examining table has been made to collect learning data during baseline period,training period and maintenance period,and the data were collected and analyzed in methods of visual analysis and C statics.After two causal inference trainings,we took a test.Both of them had 28 casual inference trainings.There are four tests in baseline period,ten tests in training period and four tests in maintenance period.Results show as followed:(1)After training as long as ten weeks,both of children’s total scores increased significantly and had a obviously ascending tendency.(2)The scores of forward inference and inverse inference had also remarkably increasing trend both of them.(3)At the first half of training period,both of them had a better scores in forward inference than inverse inference.According to the training and the results of this study,we can see the training of casual inference have a positive effect on children with moderate mental retardation on causal cognition,which also can improve the causal inference.Causal inference training should fit closely to their daily life.Meanwhile,it is suggested to make more use of practices and guide children to apply casual inference to learning new knowledge and skills.
