Interprete The Masculinity Of "Breastfeed Father" In Media Discourse

Based on the data of the 425 articles titled include "breastfeed father" in non-academy magazines from 2012 to 2016 resourced from Duxiu journal database,190 highly related articles are selected to do an in-depth analysis.With the help of masculinity theory and three levels coding process,this paper is aimed to analyze the construction of media discourse and masculinity about "breastfeed father",and get to the ultimate goal of answering why this construction and its masculinity could be possible and be accepted.On the one hand,this paper starts from a comprehensive and systematic content analysis to describe what the "breastfeed father "is in media discourse and what kind of image is constructed.On the other hand,this paper describes why this kind of construction and its masculinity could be possible and accomplished.The explanation is not only from the view of this special father group's participation in family life,but also from the view of society,culture,social instruction as well as the patriarchy,history and the changing process of male character.
