A Study Of Fathers’ Image And The Education Value In Children’s Picture Book

With the continuous development of society, it is gradually aware of importance of the father’s role in children’s growing. However, influenced by traditional ideas, knowing about the importance of A father is limited in consciousness more than in action. And, there are very common phenomenon about lack of father, improper education in the development of children because of various factors. Therefore, it is a problem need to be solved that how to fully play the father’s role in early childhood education realize the perfect personality for children’s future.Picture book is a special children’s literature, which narrates expresses and conveys one’s ideas or feelings by language and painting combined artistically, and gets children’s favorite with its interesting and vivid. In Picture book, specific vivid image of father, that shows the father’s appearance, demeanor and traits of character, contains rich information, such as father how to educate and influence children, and what kind of position and role of father have, provides a diverse “world” for children knowing father.Based on more than 100 children picture books published in domestic, this study analyzes father of picture books, knows of its types and characteristics from the literature and art,further cleares the significance of father involvement and impact on father missing by combining with the relevant theories of pedagogy and psychology, explores its education value, and propounds appropriate suggestions. This study has three main aspects:First, the types of father involvement and theirs education value in children picture book. The types of father involvement include: pay attention to “emotional expression”, lay stress on “interpersonal communication", be ready to “attention and help”, and have on “discipline and control”. The reuslts found that father involvement can promote the development of children’s personality quality, help build theirs gender role identity, promote theirs social development, and improve theirs cognitive ability.Second, father absence and its thinking in children picture book. father absence can be divided into: divorced- single parent families, a spouse death- single parent family, work far away from the family, father irresponsibility at home. The results found that whether the objective or subjective reasons, father absence will be great harm to children. People must change the narrow education idea, clarify the responsibilities of parents, don’t ignore children thinking in separation and death, communicate timely, enhance children’s ability to resist setback by a variety of ways make up for father missing, pay attention to the comprehensive and enlightening education, and better promote children’s physical and mental growth.Finally, put forward suggestions: the society will create a good atmosphere for supportting and encouraging father to actively participate in early childhood education; father should improve their own quality and give father’s love to children in order to make the child feel the positive emotional experience, and become the game partners of child, so as to make the child form good personality quality, and as a father, example and guide the proper behavior of children.
