Academic stress is one of the important factors that affect the postgraduates' academic development and physical and mental development.And as a mediator of stress and health,plays an important role in the maintenance of individual physical and mental health.However,there are two kinds of confusing phenomena: one is that many graduate students seem to have no pressure in the school "dawdle";the other is some graduate students complain about academic pressure "mountain" can not cope with,Or even suicide phenomenon.So what is the real situation of coping with the postgraduates' academic stress? How should we improve the status of postgraduates' academic stress? This is the subject of this paper.Based on the theory of stress cognitive interaction and social support theory,820 academic graduate students from 2014,2015 and 2016 of Henan University were selected by questionnaire and interview method.SPSS20.0 software Statistical analysis of the collected data.This study found that the postgraduates' academic stress is generally high.Academic stress from high to low in order: study pressure,professional learning pressure,competitive pressures and external expectations of pressure.The overall situation of coping with postgraduates' academic stress is basically good,but there are significant differences in gender,grade,subject type and family economy.The study also found that the internal and external influencing factors of academic stress coping were mainly cognitive evaluation and social support.In addition,this study analyzes the internal mechanism of the coping style of postgraduates' academic stress,and finds that the coping mechanisms of academic stress are: self-regulation mechanism,self-defense mechanism and external guidance mechanism.Through the analysis of these three mechanisms,it is found that some of the postgraduates' academic stress cognitive habits are poor and tendto choose negative self-defense mechanism.From the outside,the school's academic stress is not enough,There is not enough communication between instructor and master graduate student.It can be seen that although the postgraduates' academic stress response is basically in good condition,there are still some problems that need to be improved.This study mainly puts forward some suggestions to improve the coping situation of postgraduates' academic stress from the internal and external levels.The first is to adjust the academic pressure of graduate students to understand the appropriate use of self-defense mechanism;second to improve the social support system for postgraduates to provide effective social support.In order to improve the status of graduate students to cope with academic stress,and then improve their mental health level.
