Dialogue teaching is a kind of teaching method based on the principle of dialogue.It is a new teaching thinking and idea,pursuing the humanization and creativity.Dialogue teaching can change the students' rote learning mode,reduce the state of teachers' one-way inculcation to the students,so that the students' learning process is changed from listening and writing to "you-me" dialogical relations.Different from the traditional teaching and learning mode,the dialogue teaching mode increases the students' right to speak in the classroom,pay more attention to the authenticity of the dialogue,legitimacy and sincerity.The essence of English reading teaching in junior high school is the process of soul dialogue among teachers,students and the texts.While the present reading teaching model is the normal teaching mode in which the teachers explain,and students just listen to them.This teacher-student dialogue happens only when teachers raise some questions for the students to answer in the class.Now the absence,lack and distort of dialogue has been the situation,which is not conducive to improve junior high school students' English reading ability.Dialogue teaching is still at the basic stage in English teaching in China.Thus,a large number of teaching practices are needed to explore its effectiveness in the teaching process.In this study,I selected seven English teachers and two classes,80eighth-grade students all from middle school I stay for the survey.The two classes are set as the control class and experimental class.The control class is taught with the traditional teaching method,while the experimental class with the dialogue teaching method.I observe the students' performance in the dialogue teaching class throughtheir class activities,and I evaluate the English reading scores of the students in different teaching methods.The purposes are to explore that in which aspects can dialogue teaching promote English reading teaching in middle school and that how to optimize the implementation of dialogue teaching in English reading classes.In addition,I also conducted interviews with seven teachers to study the problems they encountered in the dialogue teaching.The research in this article focuses on the students and teachers,and I will try to answer the following questions:1)In what aspects can dialogue teaching improve the students' reading ability?2)How to use dialogue teaching in English reading teaching to improve students' reading ability?3)What is the effect in implementing dialogue teaching?Through the empirical study of the dialogue teaching in junior middle school English reading class,combined with the investigation and analysis between the two classes of the control class and the experimental class,this study got the following findings:1)Dialogue teaching in English reading class can promote the ability of students to gain reading information and stimulate the subjective initiative of students for reading.Besides,it can enhance students' ability of reading comprehension as well as strength the relations among teachers,students and books.2)There is specific connection between the practice of dialogue teaching and reading ability,the connection of reading content,the professional quality of teachers and the subjective initiative of students to speak.3)We should attach great importance to the teaching objectives of reading ability and clarify the advantages of dialogue teaching.Meanwhile,we should strengthen the connection between reading and dialogue and perfect the use of dialogue teaching method.Apart from these,improving the professional level of teachers and augmenting quality training of the dialogue teaching are also of utmost significance.Last but not least,stimulating students' enthusiasm of study can encourage them tospeak out in the class counts,too.There is much to be done in the study of dialogue teaching.First of all,more dialogue methods need to be constantly explored by teachers,and the content of teaching needs to be summarized by teachers to realize effective classroom teaching.Second,more classes and members should be involved to allow more students and teachers to enjoy this kind of high-quality classroom teaching mode.In addition,teachers are supposed to consult and gather more materials as much as possible to gain more theoretical support.
