The Research On Justice Of Chinese Higher Education

Currently,more and more problems of justice appear in society because of unbalanced development of economy in different regions,the widening gap between the rich and poor and the widening gap in the different social class.The justice of higher education has a close relation with social justice.It is the embodiment of social justice in the field of higher education.There is an increasing number of unjust phenomena in the higher education.Therefore,people must pay attention to it.In the1970 s,Rawls,a famous philosopher and ethicist in American,officially published A Theory of Justice.Publication of this book triggered an intense discussion of Chinese and foreign scholars.Rawls took the justice as the most important value of social institutions.Similarly,in the domain of higher education,many educationists take the justice as the primary value of higher education.This thesis,based on Rawls' theories of justice,explains the connotation of the justice of higher education,analyze the problems of justice in the field of higher education and probe the possible ways to solve these problems.The study is of great significance to the all-round development of individuals,the change of unjust phenomena in the universities,the development of higher education and the realization of social justice.This thesis has four parts.The first part is introduction.The second part describes Rawls' just thought under the perspective of ethics,especially the two principles of justice.This part describes the life story of him and the creative writing of A Theory of Justice.The life and education experience of Rawls has important influence on the formation of his thought of justice.Rawls paid attention not only to the equality,but also to the liberty.He wanted to reconcile the relationship between equality and liberty.The third part shows the problems of justice in the domain of higher education.It clarifies the connotation of the justice of higher education and then analyzes the problems of equality and liberty of higher education.The justice of higher education is a moral concept and it is about the construction of higher education.It requests that the institution and practice of higher education must conform to the justice.We can use the liberty and the equality of higher education to describe the justice of higher education.The forth part presents the solutions of equal and liberal issues in the field of higher education according to the just thought of Rawls.We can employ the equal free principle,the combining of fair equality of opportunity and different principle to solve the illiberal problems.We can also employ the thoughts of compensation,equal distribution and treating students equally to deal with unequal problems.We hope that everybody enjoys the basic liberty of higher education and higher education can treat people equally.
