As an important branch of middle school mathematics,plane geometry has its own unique and complete knowledge system.As a basic figure in plane geometry for Junior Middle School Student,the circle has its special position and has its unique charm.Junior Middle school students are good at thinking in image,therefore some certain difficulties are existed in learning plane geometry,especially the circle.In my opinion,the major reason is that they don't have enough capability to analyze the problem,even don't known how to exam the question.We know examining question is the first step in Polya's four step problem-solving theory,once the first step occur mistake,problem solving will be nonsense.In the process of teaching,most teachers pay more attention to the teaching of problem solving,and ignore how to analyze the problem.By reviewing a lot of references about analysis of questions,we found that most researches give theoretical guidance,but very few people had doing practical research on how to analyze the problem,aiming at a certain section in mathematics.Therefore,by taking the chapter of the circle in plane geometry as anexample and the Polya ' s problem-solving theory as the theoretical basis,I choose the topic of “ The Practical Research on Improving the Analytic Ability of Circle for Junior Middle School Student ”.By doing questionnaire investigation,I found that many junior middle school students' ability of analyzing problem is uneven,and most of them haven't employ the strong capability to analyze the problem.The reasons are as follows.On one hand,the circle has many character,and the applications are relatively flexible,the problems are always changing,it is hard for students to grasp;On the other hand,the students lack the awareness of examining question and strategies of analyzing the problem.By taking chapter of circle in the plane geometry of the junior middle school students as an example,the paper investigates the ability of analysis in junior high school students firstly.Then,five questions and methods are put forward,according to existing problems.Secondly,I had listed two teaching cases.According to the theoretical research and practical teaching,I found that consciously guiding students to solve the problem about circle,summing up the relevant questions and methods about circle,can increase the speed ofanalyzing problem.Finally,I put forward some teaching suggestions : Arranging reasonable teaching order,from shallow to deep,step by step;Choosing reasonable teaching content,according to different abilities of students;Controlling the progress of teaching;Strengthening students ' connection of old and new knowledge,and consolidating students' foundation;Consciously guiding students to self-examination and summing up experience and methods to improve students' interest in learning.
