Teachers' teaching motivation is the internal psychological state that directly promotes teachers engaging in educational activities in order to satisfy a certain psychological needs.Whether the teaching motivation is strong or weak is directly impacting teachers' working attitude and willingness to remain in teaching profession for a long period.Rural primary school teachers,who have hard living conditions,old and outdated teaching facilities,and suffer from lack of faculty members and great loss.Therefore,it's of great importance to explore rural primary teachers' motivation to be a teacher and willingness to remain in teaching profession for a long period after years' working,as well as to find out the reasons that will cause primary school teachers' “potential loss" for these factors will guide the pre-service teachers to set up the correct teaching motivation and help stabilize the rural teachers.The article adopts both the methods of questionnaire combined with interview survey,and selects a questionnaire survey of 200 rural primary school teachers in Gansu province,taking eight teachers of the poll to participate the interview.Based on data analysis,firstly,this study examines the teaching motivation of rural primary school and analyzes the differences.Then it analyzes the long-term teaching willingness of rural primary school teachers and the differences.Finally,this essay explores the relationship between motivation and long-term teaching intention.The study found that: Rural primary school teachers' teaching motivation is not intensity enough.There exists a significant difference on that in males' and female's teachers' teaching motivation,and female teachers' teaching motivation is stronger than that of males'.Different education background differs in teaching motivation,teachers who have college degree is significantly higher than bachelor's degree of teachers.Rural primary school teachers' willingness to remain in teaching profession for a long period is not intensity.When it comes to the teachers with different gender,teaching age and income will differ in willingness to remain in teaching.Female teachers' teaching willingness is stronger than male's.Teachers who have 1 to 3 years or more than 10 years teaching experiences have a strong willingness than teachers who has 4 to 10 years teaching experiences.Teachers whose income is between2000 to 3000 yuan or more than 4000 yuan have a strong teaching willingness than teachers whose income is between 1000 to 2000 yuan or 3000 to 4000 yuan.Positively relation exists between motivation to be a teacher and willingness to remain teaching for a long period,meaning that the higher motivation to be a teacher is,the stronger willingness to remain to teaching grows,or vice versa.Finally,this essay analyzes reasons for effecting teachers' teaching willingness,and combines with the present condition of western rural primary school teachers,to put forward the corresponding suggestions.
