The senior high school English teaching plays an important role in the whole English learning stage,while the quality of English teaching mainly depends on the professional quality of English teachers.What kind of quality senior high school English teachers should have is worth exploring.Therefore,it is particularly urgent to explore the professional quality of senior high school English teachers.Based on the excellent English teacher interviews,theoretical discussion and a large number of literature references,the senior high school excellent English teacher quality questionnaire is designed to investigate the basic qualities of English teachers in three senior high schools in Huaibei city from the perspectives of teachers and students.30 English teachers and 132 students are selected as the research object in three senior high school of Huaibei city,and it takes randomized survey of students and English teachers.Through the use of statistical techniques,the questionnaire data are analyzed,and the conclusion is drawn.The thesis puts some suggestions improving the quality of senior high school English teachers,which provides reference to develop the high-quality of senior high school English teachers and facilitates the active study of English teachers in the three senior high schools.The content of the questionnaire mainly includes: first,the subject knowledge of senior high school English teachers.Second,the ideology and moral character of senior high school English teachers.Third,English teaching ability of senior high school English teachers.Fourth,the English teaching theory of senior high school English teachers.Fifth,the teaching and research ability of senior high school English teachers.Through the questionnaire,the conclusion is made as follows: first,English teachers lacks the knowledge of English linguistics and literature.Second,it is not enough for English teachers in the fair treatment of each student.Third,English teachers are lack of professional skills(such as brief strokes,English songs and blackboard writing design,etc.).Fourth,English teachers don’t know enough about the relevant education policies and regulations.Fifth,the overall level of teaching and research ability of English teachers is low.The thesis consists of six parts.The first part is concerned with literature review.Through the study of the status quo of domestic and foreign research on the quality of teachers,the quality of excellent teachers and the quality of excellent English teachers,the shortcomings of research are found.The second part is about theoretical basis.The thesis mainly introduces the theory of social constructivism and summarizes the application of this theory to the quality of senior high school English teachers.The third part is about research ideas and methods.This part introduces the ideas of the research,methods and steps of the investigation.The fourth part refers to the investigation results and analysis.The investigation results are obtained by using statistical methods to analyze the data.The fifth part is about the proposals of cultivation on the quality of senior high school excellent English teachers.According to the results of the investigation,the corresponding recommendations are presented.The sixth part is conclusion.This part summarizes research results,study limitations and research prospects.
