Students' evaluation of teaching of American Research University has a history of over one hundred years,the development has become increasingly perfect and mature.Especially in recent years,with the development of economy and society,the American Research University although it has established a set of more research institutions,but also in the ongoing efforts to take a series of measures to balance the relationship between teaching and scientific research.Student evaluation of teaching has become an important means of internal quality assurance in American research universities.The teacher is the main undertaker of the school teaching work,the student is in the main body status in the teaching activity,students have the right to speak to the teachers' teaching evaluation.Students' evaluation of teaching is also playing an increasingly important role in improving teachers' teaching,school management and students' elective courses.It has accumulated a lot of experience in theoretical research and practice,which is worthy of our in-depth study.The paper consists of introduction and three parts:The introduction mainly introduces the source and significance of the research,including the theoretical significance and practical significance;defines the concept of "American Research University","teaching evaluation" and "students' evaluation of teaching";and then reviews the research status of students' evaluation of teaching,showing the difficulties and innovations of this thesis;explains three kinds of research---literature research method,case study method and factor analysis method adopted in this dissertation.The first part mainly analyzes the factors of students' evaluation of teaching in American Research Universities from two aspects.The internal factors include "college students" rooted in tradition,the German elective system influence and the development of education evaluation theory,solve the demand decline in the quality of education and research university students have the corresponding ability;external factors including the Social Democratic Decentralization open thought and developed market culture.In the second part,the author analyzes the current system of students' evaluation of teaching in American Research Universities from the following aspects: the form of students' evaluation of teaching,the implementation of students' evaluation of teaching,the supportingmeasures of students' evaluation of teaching,and the effectiveness of students' evaluation of teaching.In the third part,the author summarizes the experience of the student evaluation system in American research universities.Mainly includes: correct understanding of students' evaluation of teaching significance,expand students' evaluation of teaching mode,strengthening students' evaluation of teaching process management,building a scientific and reasonable teaching evaluation indexes system,and improve the protection mechanism of the students' evaluation of teaching activities.
