Multicultural education continues to develop and New History continues to prosper the global society in the 21 st century.It is necessary to reflect the diversity of content in history textbooks.In order to solve the problems existing in Chinese history textbooks,making the contents of our history textbooks more diverse,it is very necessary and significant to compare the contents of the history textbook of China and Australia.The research object of this paper is "Chinese history" in China and the "History Alive" of Victoria,Australia.The main content of the study is the history of ancient China from 3000 BC to 300 AD in history textbooks.This paper is supported by the theory of Multiculturalism and New History.The research methods of this paper mainly use the literature research method,comparative method and content analysis method to do quantitative analysis and qualitative research on the history textbooks of Chinese and Australian junior middle schools.The main work and conclusions are as follows:Firstly,it defines the relevant concepts,which mainly include the concepts of government,economy,society,environment(natural environment),war,culture,religion and science and also include the meaning of single subject,cross theme,shallow content and depth content.Secondly,it introduces the specific use of content analysis method.Thirdly,it analyzes the characteristics of the content diversity of Chinese and Australian junior middle school history textbooks.Furthermore,from the results of the study,the history textbook content and knowledge of Chinese version is extensive,systematic,but the perspective is more traditional,lacks diversity.Australian history textbook content is more diverse,with new perspective,and close to student life.Analyzing the comparative study,you will find that the shackles of the textbook system and the constraints of historical curriculum standards make the content lack of diversity.Finally,the paper puts forward the proposal of optimizing the history textbook to make it diversified.First,we should improve the textbook mechanism an.In addition,we will select the historical subject content,join the historical ability content and integrate the historical research results into the textbook to optimize the content.
