It is generally believed that a textbook plays a vital part in teaching.With its guidance on teachers' teaching and students' learning,it serves as the benchmark of teaching and learning activities.In terms of the teaching plan,paying due attention to the replacement of textbooks helps the front-line teachers to properly adjust their teaching design and complete their teaching tasks more efficiently.As for the curriculum reform,paying due attention to the replacement of textbooks could also help the front-line teacher have a better understanding of the core of this reform and teach with a clear goal in their mind.Thus,this thesis contributes to conduct a comparative study on the "JKWL" of junior high school physics from different periods.The thesis is divided into four parts including seven chapters.The first part is the introduction,including issues raised,research contents and methodology and literature review,including the definitions of core concepts and research status.The second part is from the second chapter to the fifth chapter,concentrating on the contrast between the previous textbooks and the new textbook on chapters,illustrations,scientific explorations and exercises,which are the core of this thesis.The third part is the questionnaire to know the front-line teachers' understanding and application of the new textbook.The fourth part,also the seventh chapter,is about conclusion and implication.In general,new teaching materials show excellence in its purpose "for all students,improve students' scientific literacy".New materials made difference in chapters,illustrations,scientific explorations and exercises.But the most obvious difference made is in the illustrations followed by scientific explorations,with the least difference in exercises.The methodologies used in this thesis include literature review,questionnaire and data analysis,etc.Based on the differences between the previous textbooks and the new one,it gives proposals on the application and modification of textbooks in the hope of making a modest contrition to the curriculum reform.
