The author tries to take legal education as a micro field of research,taking several junior high schools in Ba'nan District,Chongqing as examples.In the paper,major methods such as document analysis,questionnaire,and interviewing are adopted to analyze the status of legal education to junior high school students from four dimensions—students themselves,school,their family and the society.For schools,they still need to improve legal education course orientation,teaching staff,contents of legal education,teaching methods,etc.in recent years,though attention to legal education from students' family generally increases,it is not enough yet.Creating legal atmosphere in the society has not properly played the role of facilitating legal education to junior high school students;and laws need to be perfected.It is found that they mainly involve: firstly,there is no systematic understanding of the features of junior high school students,people haven't found a perfect integrating point aligning legal education in accordance with the features of junior high school students.Secondly,the level of modernization and systematization of legal education is low,and the measures for publicity system and assessment mechanism have not been established regarding the implementation of legal education to junior high school students,and it is random to do legal education.Thirdly,due to the adverse impact of exam-oriented education in our country,legal education is not a subject of examination,and it is in an awkward position,on the verge of being listed as a subject of examination.Fourthly,the traditional legal education methods lag behind,the teaching contents are disconnected with student's actual life,and teachers are passive in teachings,and all these phenomena are severe.Fifthly,there is no joint force for legal education,and everyone goes his/her own way.The author relies on relevant theoretical basis concerning the status of legal education to junior high school students,and advocates to solve the existing problems in legal education from the following perspectives: firstly,in order to find scientific and reasonable improving measures,subjects of education must have a scientific understanding of the education and follow the rule of legal education to junior high school students.For example,for legal education to junior high school students,there are principles of integrality and stages,school education and after-school education,explicit education and implicit education,theoretical property and practical property,etc.Secondly,department at all levels shall improve the legal education system,and increase the systematized level of legal education.Thirdly,subjects of education shall change the traditional concepts,enhance quality-oriented education,ensure integrated development of students,and reduce the negative effect of the residual power of exam-oriented education.For example,they shall guarantee the independent position of legal education,advocate to make teaching contents close to life,and teachers shall change from passive teaching to active teaching,etc;Fourthly,they shall combine the features of legal education with those of junior high school students,change the education mode and improve teaching methods.Finally,all the subjects of legal education(government,school,family,society,etc.)shall unite their force and establish a linkage mechanism.
