In recent years,service trade has jumped over commodity trade and become the attention of trade negotiations between countries.Not only has the amounts been increased,the meanings and forms are also renewed.This article focuses on trade in education,discovering the export ability of French and the reasons behind,also deeply analyses the why the Chinese overseas students,which is the second largest group among all international students in France,choose to come to France.In the end,author made suggestions on how to improve the higher education trade between China and France.This article analyses the subject mainly from four perspectives:basic trade theory,current situation description,trade parameters and econometric models.Basically,through the horizontal comparison between countries and vertical evolution along time,this article sees where the French education industry stands and how it has been developed.International students in France as the representative of consumption overseas is the main dealing subject in the article to research on the ability of education export in France.The primary conclusions are the following:1.France is one of the top 5 education exporting countries.and is the largest education exporting country among non english-speaking countries.2.Humanities and social sciences like Language and literature,along with the unique professional education system are the two main comparative advantages.Although France is one of the top 5 regarding the market share,the export ability has not show a great increase in the past years.3.Increase of revenue,help of government's policy,pressure of domestic employment as well as the support from French government has driven the growing of Chinese students in France.On the other hand,the limitation of revenue increase and the niche of French culture has restricted the development of education export of France.
