The French “l’Univeristé” and “les Grandes Ecoles” has constituted the “dual track system” of higher education in France.It has a history of more than 200 years since it was established in the French higher education.Gradually,it becomes the most French-characteristic education system.The advantage of the “dual track system” model is the complementary.It maintains the mass education and elite education at the same time.However,for many years,it has no intersection between “l’Univeristé” and “les Grandes Ecoles” in education.The “dual track system” has developed in a polarized direction,which has influenced the overall quality of French higher education.To strengthen the relationship of “l’Univeristé” and “les Grandes Ecoles” and to highlight the value of the “dual track system”.Many measures were adopted by French government to strengthen the relationship between “l’Univeristé” and “les Grandes Ecoles”,such as the “Campus Plan” and “The Reorganization of Higher Education”.The starting point of this thesis is the advantages of the “dual track system”.It mainly expounds the reform measures of the “dual track system” in France,and analyzes its effectiveness and shortcomings.Finally,it gives reflection and suggestion for the complementary of mass education and elite education in China.This thesis mainly uses comparative method and literature research to trace the history of French “l’Univeristé” and “les Grandes Ecoles” and finds out the history of the French “dual track system”.According to the history of “dual track system”,the author finds the advantages of French “dual track system”,which protects the complementary of the mass education and elite education.Meanwhile,the study also discovers some problems of “dual track system”.Secondly,this thesis expounds the measures to resolve the problems caused by the “dual track system” from three aspects,including government and universities.Thereby,the author analyzes that the advantages and complementary of mass education and elite are more valuable than before.Finally,based on the advantages of “dual track system”,this thesis can provides some reference for our complementation of mass education and elite education;the connection of vocational education and higher education.
