China and Japan have suffered by Western powers in the middle of 19 century.In this process, China and Japan faced the pressure of social transformation. It makes people come into contact with the culture and the thought came from the west because of frequently contact with the foreigners, and makes the change of original main-stream ideology. In such a social background, there had two books had same name called Ouan Xue Pian had written by Zhang Zhi dong (the representative of the westernization in the late Qing Dynasty) and Fukuzawa Yukichi (well-known thinker and torchbearer of important standing in Japan) in the late nineteenth century. They publicized their political education thought from their own class standpoint and advocated people to change country and their own destiny by learning. The two authors not only by virtue of their Quan Xue Pian to implementation of the education reform, but also used their ideas, ethics and political views to influence national, let people became talented officials of the ruling class.This paper is consisting of five parts as following:In the first part, there will be basic introductions of the two books, such as the society and historical background for the literature creation (The Meiji Reform and the reform movement of 1898).In addition, the main idea and the influence on the two countries of the books will be brief analyzed in this part. In the second part, readers can browse a comparison on the politically educational purposes for the two books.The two authors all hoped their appeal can enlighten the people for western education so as to realize the purpose of national independence, and to make their countries rich and powerful, to make the people enjoy prosperous life. But the differences between their ideas are: Zhang Zhi dong was calling on a united front of the people and government to fight against the invaders; for Fukuzawa Yukichi, he tried his best to promote the transformation of capitalism for Japan by means of education.In the third part, a comparison on political education of the two masterpieces will be read. Even though the two authors all attached great importance to inspiring patriotism, as well as the introduction of advanced western technology, they held different ideas on democracy and civil rights.In the fourth part, there will be a comparison on the target"students" for these two books. Due to different position the authors held,their target"students" for education definitely differed. In the fifth part, a comparison on educational methods for the two books is also clarified. No matter Zhang Zhi dong, or Fukuzawa Yukichi, they all focused on the target students' practical problems, and they all hoped that their appeal would be accepted by the people, although they put forward to different educational methods. In the last part, the author of this paper would like to convey some ideas after the comparison of the two books: Firstly, it is of great significance to pay a tight attention to the needs of the educational targets in the contemporary ideological and political education. In this way,it is beneficial to stimulate the study enthusiasm of the students; Secondly, it is necessary to integrate the current education with Chinese excellent traditional culture in order to strengthen Chinese people's confidence on our own culture so as to be more active in achieving the great rejuvenation of Chinese nation. last but not least, it is of great value to absorb western's culture,and draw on their successful experiences,so that we can tackle various challenges and grasp great opportunities that the globalization brings to us.
