Dong Weichuan is a famous educator in modern times, more than thirty years of education-nal practice, many areas of his educational activities involved in education. The article by DongWeichuan published books and articles as the basis, through its education practice, history causeand the thought of his thought, the thought is divided into social education, secondary educationand teacher education, and draws inspiration for today’s education.This article first discusses the origin of Dong Weichuan ’s educational practice and thought.Through the analysis of Dong Weichuan’s educational thought of Students, the development ofthe historical background, the influence of family, school and educational practice in his educati-on thought, explores the Zouxian human environment, the impact of mentoring, European tourexperience on the ideological reasons. These factors are intertwined expanded Dong Weichuan’sthoughts of width, the education thought showed evident populace consciousness, pay attentionto combining the characteristics of the actual.Social education, including public education, rural education, adult education and nationaleducation thought. He put forward the public education should be included in the category ofcompulsory education and school education are interlinked, the rural education should emphasi-ze the village primary school and People’s Education Museum of Shandong Provincial, nationaleducation should take the adult education standard, education play a fundamental role in society,knowledge youth should bear responsibility of extension education. Dong Weichuan summed upthe social education course, the social education to democracy, socialization, life and popularopinion.Secondary education theory, Dong Weichuan from the educational objectives, educationalsystem, educational content, put forward a series of ideological education reform. He proposedto link up the national secondary education and higher education, the education and constructionas the secondary education reform.Normal education thought, Dong Weichuan opposed the normal university education is tocultivate senior teacher education, higher normal education is still that cultivation of the middleschool teachers for the task, has indirectly to common education. He attached great importanceto normal education practice, put forward to combine book knowledge with practice education.
