The rapid development of information technology has changed the traditional teaching mode.In the 'Compulsory English curriculum standards(2011)',it requires teachers should have the teaching ability and teaching reflection ability,choose and use appropriate teaching methods creatively,use of modern educational technology rationally,organize and implement of classroom teaching effectively,develop students'English knowledge and ability.Consequently,integrating the information technology and teaching,changing the traditional teaching mode,optimizing the classroom structure,mobilizing the students' senses and improving the efficiency of classroom teaching are urgent and important tasks.The study explores the effects of using boxfish APP based on iPad carry out English learning interest,self-regulated learning ability,English autonomous learning ability and on English scores to find the related problems and put forward suggestions.It is the hoped that the study can provide some reference for future related research,also provides some experience for relevant teaching practice.The study used education experiment method and questionnaire method.In the education experiment,two classes of students in grade eight from Tianjin No.19 Middle School are chosen as the subjects for the research and are divided into experimental class and control class.The experimental class use boxfish APP to teach English,while the control class using traditional method to teach English.Before the start of the experiment and after the end of experiment,the two classes were measured and organized and analyzed data.The data analysis result suggests that boxfish APP based on iPad in English classes can greatly improve the students' English learning interest,self-regulated learning ability and English autonomous learning ability.The significant differences of exam scores are not observed between experimental and control classes.
