Tennis is a sport with varied and fast changing skills, which means the participation on both sides of the body is quite important to every movement. With the development of modern tennis, the movement of a athlete is requried to be more coordinate and smooth.Meanwhile, when both sides of the body participate in the same time,it becomes the very premise of the coordination in a movement. The experience of many kinds of sports training like basketball;shot put;shuttlecock proves that when one side of the body gets a kind of skill, the other side of body will be relatively easy and fast. This phenomenon is called the theory of bilateral transfer. The related researches is rare about tennis, especially literature about the training of weak side handball. And all the existing studies focus on the influences of weak hand training on forehand hitting and backhand hitting in the bottom line. Therefore, the present research will combine the theory of learning and the theory of bilateral transfer to design a new teaching method of tennis.Hoping this innovative thesis can provide some reference to teachers and coaches, help the training of tennis beginners to be more scientific and feasible. This research uses documents study;questionnaire survey;experimental teaching;statistical analysis and some other study methods;sets experimental group and control group in experimental teaching.According to the outline of compulsory course in Beijing Sports University,I designed the teaching plan with the suggestion of my tutor. As the subjects are beginners of tennis, the training focuses on basic skills like forehand;backhand and intercept. The experimental group practices in a conventional way,but the control group needs to train their weak side hand first. Both strong and weak side hand shares a half time of the training to the control group, meanwhile, the content and schedule of the experimental group is the same with control group. After 32 class hours, the two groups will have tests in the depth of the forehand and backhand shot;precision;technical evaluation and the depth of the forehand and backhand intercept. This study compares the data from these two groups and uses independent sample 't' to analyze the differences of their acquisition of tennis skills. The conclusions is followed.1.The bilateral transfer method will help students to be more initiative when training their weak side hand,it has positive influence on improving forehand and backhand shot skills. This method has more significant help in two-handed backhands of the weak side hand than forehand. At the mean time, learning the forehand skills of the weak side hand before two-handed backhands will accelerate the process of learning two-handed backhands skills of the strong side hand.Students will deepen their understanding of the technological structure and improve their capability to some degree.2.The bilateral transfer method will promote the balance development of left and right brain;enhance the development level of the brain;help students to get better physical constitutions and increase the rationality and normalization of their movements,so they can improve their skills in every aspects.3.The bilateral transfer method can excited the brain of weak side hand.Another side of muscle and nurse can take a break to guarantee the quality of the training.Students will be in a well condition through the training,it's positive to the probability of sport injure.
