Ecology is a science that studies the creatures and the relationship between creatures and their environment.The application of the theory of ecology already goes deep into each field of society and life.Thinking from the perspective of ecology has become a trend.In the process of the reform of teacher education,teachers’ learning has gradually changed from the knowledge orientation,the practice orientation to the ecological orientation,which provides a new research perspective and ideas for teachers’ learning problems.Therefore,it is feasible and necessary to study English teachers’ learning from the perspective of ecology.Based on the ecological value orientation,this paper analyzes the learning problems of English teachers from the perspectives of ecological thinking,the value orientation of life,the orientation of cognition,the value orientation of the whole and the value orientation of sustainable development.In this study,the English teachers from five middle schools and two primary schools in Kaifeng City and Puyang City of Henan Province were selected as the research object.In this study,a questionnaire survey was used to investigate the current situation of the ecological orientation of English teachers.The survey found that many English teachers has produced a sense of ecology in the learning process.However,due to the shackles of the original learning concept and the management system of the school,there still exists the phenomenon of ecological imbalance in the study of English teachers.It mainly includes the life consciousness of teachers’ learning is weak;the whole campus environment of teachers’ learning is not harmonious;there is a lack of effective links between the teachers and the lack of teachers’ learning sustainability.Through the investigation and analysis of the practical problems,this paper makes a tentative study on the strategies of teachers’ learning on the basis of the theory of ecology.First of all,Teachers should cultivate the awareness of the value of life.The teachers learn the energy needed for life and expand the niche of spiritual life.Secondly,Teachers should strengthen the effective link between Teachers’ group,build a learning community for the teachers,and deal with the relationship between cooperation and competition.Furthermore,we should improve the overall ecological environment of the school,build an ecological teacher learning culture,establish an ecological evaluation system of teachers,and reasonably allocate the resources of teachers’ learning ecosystem.Finally,promote the sustainable development of teachers’ learning,change the state of the separation of teachers’ work and learning,and improve the consciousness and adjust the niche breadth timely.
