Secondary vocational education assumes the responsibility of training high-quality applied talents in our country.Teachers of vocational education play a role of “Ferry people”in this process.Founding in the teaching and research activities by following teachers from Dalian Education Institute,there are many problems in biology teachers' professional development.After consulting the relevant literature,author did not find any research on biology teachers' professional development in secondary vocational school.The professional development of teachers determines the quality of education and the direction of future development to the school and the country.To find the problems in biology teachers' professional development in vocational school and make recommendations to promote professional development,author conducted an investigation.On the basis of consulting the relevant research papers and combining with the interview results of the teachers from Dalian Education Institute,author divided the research into two parts.The first part is the survey of the basic situation of teachers,including age,gender,title,education and so on.The second part is the investigation on the current situation of teachers' professional development from the following five aspects: professional emotion,professional knowledge,professional ability,independent development and the participation of the external activities.The biology teachers in 6 randomly selected secondary vocational schools in Dalian were the object of study.The questionnaires were distributed and collected through the network,and the results were analyzed by Excel.The study found that the resources allocation of teachers are unreasonable,professional knowledge structure is imbalance,information technology literacy is inadequate,innovation capability needs to be improved,education research ability is lacked,their own development planning is not clear and the opportunities to visit and study are less than their need.In view of these problems,under the guidance of educational research experts,this paper puts forward some suggestions from the levels of individual,school and educational administrative department.First of all,teachers should make professional development plans,raise their own professional level and carry out educational action research to improve the ability of self-education,simultaneously apply it to the teaching practice.Secondly,the school should provide a good external environment for the professional development of teachers as create a learning organization;schools shouldmake full use of schools' resources to carry out school-based training;teachers need more time to develop their own,the school should also arrange the workload of teachers.Thirdly,the education administrative department should broaden the channels for teachers to improve the overall structure of teachers,optimize teacher training activities in quantity and quality,and give teachers more power.
