Vocational education,as an important component of our national educational system,is the vital foundation of the development of our national socialist cause,as well as our national economic development.We should strive to promote vocational education especially in this new situation of rapid socialist economic development.Secondary Vocational Education(SVE),as the base of vocational education,plays a significant role in social development.Currently we have more than 10,000 secondary vocational schools(SVS)nationwide with 30 million students at school,and over 10 million enrolling new students.The CPC Central Committee and the State Council,thinking highly of the development of secondary vocational schools,have published a series of documents which include Suggestions for Youths’Ideological and Moral Education and An Outline of Mid-to Long-Term Educational Reformation Plan for the purpose of building a highly qualified vocational educational system.All of these make enhancing the professional development of homeroom teachers in secondary vocational schools a matter of urgency.Homeroom teachers in secondary vocational schools are the direct managers of the students at school,and the intermediate forces of ideological and moral teaching between students and schools.Under the situation of emphasizing teachers’ professional development,homeroom teachers not only are normal teachers but also take special responsibilities.A good teacher is not necessarily a good homeroom teacher,yet a good homeroom teacher must be a good teacher.Other teachers are required to have professional development training,as are the homeroom teachers.In recent years,there have rarely been any articles which are about professional development of homeroom teachers majoring in medical nursing in secondary vocational schools.In order to improve the qualifications and management skills of homeroom teachers,it has become a necessary requirement to study the professional development of homeroom teachers.Giving an illustration of a secondary nursing school in Changchun,this article intends to summarize and analyze the current situation of professional development of homeroom teachers via questionnaires on their present working circumstances,Found that the teacher in charge work of professional concept,there exist different levels of knowledge,ability and so on.By summarizing and analyzing homeroom teachers’ real working situation,and their problems existing in management mode and abilities in this nursing school,To improve the training and management of the teacher in the five dimensions of the idea,spirit,moral,knowledge and ability,we aim at figuring out some solutions and strategies to improve homeroom teachers’ professional abilities and their management efficiency in order to provide some recommended solutions to the professional development of the homeroom teachers majoring in medical nursing.
