With the acceleration of globalization process,English,as an international communication language,got more and more public attention.It is the initial stage for pupils to learn English in primary school.And English teaching in primary school has gradually become the one of the “focus” which the people pay attention to.At present,the game teaching in primary school has showed a strong vitality,and the new teaching method is welcomed by teachers as well as students.Teachers’ adopting game teaching can not only live up the classroom atmosphere and increase the efficiency of English teaching,but also enhance the students’ interests and cultivate strong thirsty of English learning for students.What’s more,it will lay a solid foundation of the following study.Game teaching plays an important role in the practice of English teaching in primary school.Students in the classroom show a strong interest in learning English.They join in the English game teaching actively and are willing to open their mouths and speak,communicate with classmates.This method of teaching improves students’ confidence in learning English;make the students experience the happiness of learning English.But,there are some deficiencies of game teaching in the practical teaching.This study is based on the existing problems in English teaching in primary schools,using literature method,questionnaire survey method,and interview method to make a study on the present situation of English game teaching of F primary school which the students of grade three to six in Xinxiang,Henan as an example.From the mainly aspects of single form of the game,the partial participation of students,disordered discipline and inefficiency of English game teaching to survey the present condition of game teaching;in search of the causes of the problems are limitations of school assessment,undefined teaching aim of game teaching,insufficient classroom management ability of teaches,lacking of game teaching resources;unequal participation of students.The content of the investigation is mainly from the aspects of English interest,English game teaching cognition,English game teaching material resources,teachers’ use of game teaching and students’ participation.The inquiry elicited these facts:the method of game teaching in the form of a single,not all the pupils participate in the game during the educational activity,the classroom order is disordered and the gameteaching is no effective to survey the present condition of game teaching.And finding reasons for the problems are the following: limitations of school assessment,inadequate material resources in game teaching,insufficient classroom management abilities of teachers,teacher ignore the whole staff participation when game teaching.Thus,in the light of analyzing the reasons and combining with the problems,the author puts forward the corresponding improvement strategies of English game teaching.There are main strategies as following: schools transform the ways of evaluation,a reasonable allocation of material resources,strengthening the professional training of English teacher,to improve the ability of teacher about classroom management and inspiring full participation of students.According to this study provides reference to use game teaching for English teacher of primary school.At the same time,game teaching is able to motivate the students’ preferences and interests for English,so that they are willing to join in the class and feel the charm of English.
