The Chinese government carried out a policy that schools from different areas of the country should establish the curriculum of English as a required lesson from grade three for students, since the year 2001. With the development of information technology and the deepened reformation process of the basic education curriculum, great changes have taken place in primary school education, such as the aim of education, the technology and so on. Traditional teaching mode will have been abandoned due to the informational process of primary school English education. It will not adapt to the new concept of education and curriculum reform. Therefore, how to reform the mode of primary school English teaching has become an urgent problem which the primary school English teaching staff face. It is a relief that primary school English game teaching can help them. The primary school English game teaching can not only inject more vigor into classroom teaching, but also improve the quality of primary school English teaching. The new teaching form caters well to the concept. It will provide the primary school English teaching staff with a new view when they practice their teaching philosophy.The way of literature search, questionnaire, interview, special case analysis are adopted in this research. It aims to make better use of game for the teachers in the current primary school English class. This research tries to find out problems which occur in the primary school English game teaching according to the investigation of the current situation of it. Several reasons will be displayed and practical suggestions aiming to improve it will be put up as well. The investigation of the current situation of primary school English game teaching shows there are some problems in the effect of class, the design of the class, the involvement of the class, the discipline of the class. In detail, it has a vague aim, it has out-of-date ways, ambiguous structures, unclear subjects, improper use, narrow involvement, disorder, ineffective evaluation etc. Specific suggestions are given according to these problems.For instance, teachers ought to learn the New English Curriculum Standard carefully, also, make the teaching object clear; creat new games and attract students’attention; design various games and motivate students’interest; arrange the teaching order according to the difficulty; insist that students are the body party of the class and try to make everyone involved; pay attention to classroom management and choose the proper number of games; make the ordering clear and make pointed references; prize reasonably and conclude in time, hoping to provide useful reference to the educational staff in the aspect of both theory and practice.
