Recently,it has been an important trend that students' parents participate in the school education. In Western countries, the participation of parents, which has been carried out and studied widely for nearly 200 years, has developed into a relatively mature organizational form and systematic security system. However, the study on the parents' participation, mostly drawing on the experience of the Western countries, just began in 1950 s in China.Without the effective policies and well-operated organizations,it seems to be more difficult to carry out it.According to the empirical research of the participation of parents at Peicui Experimental High School, the author in the thesis will show the reasons why the participation of parents does not go well in China and the ways to better the poor situation. In the paper, using the documents, the comparison on Eastern and Western participation of parents and interviews of parents, students and teachers at Peicui Experimental High School, the author analyses the main factors which affect the participation of parents' development and demonstrates the importance and significance of the parents' participation. The thesis mainly consists of three parts. The first part focuses on the introduction of the differences on the origin, history and current situation of the school education between the Western and China. The second part is concentrated on the social impacts by analyzing in great detail the typical cases. In the third part, combining the documents both in the Western and in China with the actual case analysis, the author concludes the great values of the participation of parents and provides some practical advice on how to improve the school education. The fourth part is the prospects and inadequate.Summarize the deficiencies and research the prospect of the study.
