Objectives The thesis aims to construct an auxiliary experimental teaching mode in fundamental nursing course guided by the maker education concept in higher vocational colleges.After the trial in practice,it evaluates the teaching outcomes by measuring comprehensive capacities of nursing students including innovative ability,clinical strain capacity,and cooperative ability,etc..The study also attempts to intergrate the maker education concepts into nursing education and to improve experimental teaching of fundamental nursing in higher vocational colleges.Objects and Methods This is an empirical study,which utilizes blended qualitative and quantitative research methods including literature summary,expert consultation,questionnaire surveys,observation,interviews,learning tests,etc..Two natural classes of 2015 nursing students of a high vocational college in Henan province,were selected as study subjects,one class as an experimental group(45 students)and another class as a control group(46 students).These two groups had no significant differences in statistics in the baseline survey,including age,scores of admission,innovative ability and course averages of former semester(P > 0.05).In order to cultivate comprehensive abilities such as innovative ability,clinical strain capacity,autonomous learning etc.,an auxiliary teaching mode was designed for experimental teaching of fundamental nursing guided by maker education in higher vocational colleges by the research team.After expert consultation and group discussion,the mode was decided.In the first semester of the second academic year,the new auxiliary teaching mode was implemented in the experimental group for 14 weeks,once a week,meanwhile the previous teaching mode was implemented in the control group for 14 weeks,once a week.Then,the teaching outcomes were evaluated through measuring learning results,questionnaire survey,deep interviews and observation etc..The data were collected and calculated by SPSS17.0 for statistic analysis.The comparison was conducted by T test,Chi-square to find the differences between the experimental group and control group.To obtain more opinions about the new teaching mode,the researchers interviewed nursing students in the experimental group and teachers who participated in this study.The qualititive data were analysed by Claizzi's analysis steps.Results Construct an auxiliary experimental teaching mode in fundamental nursing course guided by the maker education concept in higher vocational colleges,including a nursing maker space,based on SCS,including six practical teaching programs and the final summary sharing teaching process,the total of 14 weeks,28 periods.Comparing the quantitive data of both groups,The results are showed as the following.For basic nursing skills,the test was conducted after 14 weeks.The average scores of the experimental group(84.511)is higher than the control group(77.891),P<0.001,which is statistically significant.In order to present other variable changing,we compare the difference values before and after the experiment in the experimental group and the control group.For team cooperation ability,they indicate7.089 vs 5.891.For critical thinking ability,they indicate 27.089 vs 23.630.For creative ability,the two sets of data were respectively measured by Williams Creativity Questionnaire and TCI-C Creative Thinking Questionnaire.The difference values were respectively 6.000 vs 0.065 and 2.738 vs 0.046 in the experimental group and control group.P values are less than 0.001,which are statistically significant. In addition,16 students from the experimental group and all 5 teachers who participated in the experiment had been interviewed until the information became saturated.The Claizzi's analysis was utilized to process the qualitive data.The students thought that the new teaching mode guided by maker education provides the platform of innovation,which induces them divergent thinking,lateral thinking,reverse thinking and learning happily.At the same time,their interest in learning and communicative ability have also been improved.The teachers thought that the new mode cultivated the students' comprehensive capacities including innovation,clinical strain capacity,collaboration,and communication,etc..Conclusion First,the teaching outcomes indicates that the auxilary teaching mode guided by maker education has practical value in fundamental nursing experimental teaching,which promotes the students' comprehensive capacities including innovation,clinical strain capacity,collaboration,communication,interest in learning,etc..Meanwhile the teachers who parcitipated the research think their teaching skills have been improved greatly.Second,this empirical research conducted in the fundamental nursing will inspire more other nursing teachers to understand the maker education concepts deeply and continue to explore more new methods in other subjects.
