This paper uses research literature which is related to the applicability of teaching materials and base materials that belong to teaching Chinese as a foreign language at home and abroad,the existing theory of second language acquisition research,and teaching Chinese as a foreign language theory as the theoretical basis of the investigation.Besides it through investigation & statistical method,evaluation analysis and literature summarization,uses the complete set of experience Chinese(Thailand)Junior Middle School that published by Higher Education Press as the research objects.This paper mainly examines seven aspects of the teaching materials : structure,pronunciation,vocabulary,grammar,the text,practice and culture.According to the related theories and the author's teaching experience,it evaluates teaching materials from the internal and external aspects to test the applicability of this set of textbooks in Thailand.This paper consists of five chapters.The first chapter is introduction.It mainly expounds the origin,significance,research methods,the related research review and the involving definition of the research of this study.Without related research about the textbook applicability of experience Chinese(Thailand)Junior Middle School,this paper research summarization includes: experience Chinese(Thailand)Junior Middle School research review,the applicability of teaching materials research review and the study of Chinese as a foreign language textbooks research review.The definition of defining in this part is the innovation of this paper.It is on the basis of summarizing the predecessors' views,and according to the author's understanding to define.The second chapter is the analysis of users' background.This part analyses characteristics of teachers and students from two aspects.The third chapter is textanalysis.From seven aspects: structure,pronunciation,vocabulary,grammar,exercises,texts and cultures,this part has carried on the quantitative analysis of the teaching material.The fourth chapter is the textbook applicability analysis.This part is the focus of this study.It through the combination of internal and external analysis,assess whether the textbook is suitable for junior middle school students of learning Chinese in Thailand or not.The fifth chapter is Suggestions.In view of the problems in the teaching material evaluation,this part comes up with some compiling and using advice.Through the combination of internal evaluation and external evaluation,this paper draws the following conclusions.(1)the structure of teaching material appears fault and the cohesion is not enough.(2)Pronunciation.The order of the pronunciation accords with the general rules of the Chinese phonetic learning,but it lacks detailed knowledge of phonetic explanation and pronunciation methods.(3)Vocabulary.The quantities,grades and the difficulties of vocabularies in this textbook are controlled in a reasonable range and it is suitable for Thai students.(4)Grammar.The number of grammars and the level of difficulties in each lesson accord with writing theory of textbooks about teaching Chinese as a foreign language,and conform to the theory of second language acquisition.However,the teaching materials lack summarization of grammar knowledge of this class.(5)Text.The external evaluation and internal evaluation of the interests of text are different so writing teaching material should be considered in many aspects.(6)Exercises parts of the teaching materials' innovation is based on the tradition and uses new and interesting forms,which is worth referencing for compiling textbooks in the future.(7)Culture.The choices of cultural content meets the needs of students learning Chinese traditional culture,but the culture forms are drab and it's easy to form the aesthetic fatigue.(8)As a whole,the teaching material can meet students' needs,but there are still some places that need to be improved.In conclusion,this paper tries to through the internal and external evaluations of the experience Chinese(Thailand)Junior Middle School teaching material,analyzing the fit between teaching materials and Thai students and finding the places that can beimproved.The author hopes that this paper can provide some references opinions for future revision to improve and perfect the teaching material and get stronger applicability.At the same time,the author also hopes that this paper can give help to the teaching material users.
