Study On The Formation And The Cultural Values Of Huizhou Traditional Settlements And Architectures

Recently years,excellent guiding ideology such as core socialist values or scientific development,were promoted constantly but easily to be neglected because of rapid economic development.The construction sites,which is closest to daily life,tend to has the ability to invest and propogate great values.Meanwhile,due to the lack of the knowledgement of Chinese architecture culture,humanism of Chinese traditional architecture is ignored by contemporary architects in China.Therfore,how to design buildings with genuine connotation of Chinese culture and by whom influence people's thought and behaviours with excellent values,is an urgent issue confronted with Chinese architects.Chinese civilization being historical,traditional buldings,which are supporters of the ancients life and thought,inevitably implicate fund of culture values.As a major branch of Chinese traditional architecture,Hui-style buildings possess distinctive space formation.It is the combination between Central culture and The San Yue culture and the mutual effect between humanistic society and nature environment that make huizhou settlement and its architecture not only a continuation of dominant culture such as Confucianism,but also a fusion of unique religion culture of ancient huizhou,with tremendous culture contents.Hence,exploiting traditional culture values contained in traditional Huizhou settlements and its buildings,fully understanding the generality and peculiarity of Chinese traditional culture and applying them in contemporary architecture construction,the resulting design is no longer a simply traditional symbol splicing,but an inheritance of Chinese traditional culture spirit.Exampled by intact several settlements in six counties of ancient Huizhou,supplemented by left literal data such as annals,pedigrees or Confucian literary,this thesis is authentic on account of author's personally investigation.The specific procedures are as follows:firstly,studying typical Huizhou settlement and its representative buildings:ancestral temples,dwellings and academies' space formation.According to the hierarchy relationship from the whole to the part,sorting out in terms of location,spatial form,functional structure and decorative art,and exploiting traditional cultural values contained in settlements and buildings.Secondly,summarizing excellent traditional culture thought by the analysis and trade-off of each value.Thirdly,connecting traditional cultural values with contemporary core values,promoting guidance and thoughts to modern architecture design in consideration of national circumstances.
