The comparative category is one of the basic ways when we try to know the world.It also has a significant position in language learning.Comparative sentences have emerged in the primary stage of teaching Chinese as a second language.In the Chinese School of the Cambodia,there are heaps of issues with the study of comparative sentences.Using the Mongkolborey Chinese School as an example,we performs a case study in Chinese learners' comparative sentences study in Cambodia.The teaching environment has an influence on the development of the Chinese languge teaching.After the analysis of social environment and the school environment of the Mongkolborey Chinese School,we find that the good Sino-Cambodian relations,the enlightened ethnic policy of the Cambodia and the inclusiveness towards the foreign culture are conducive to the spread of Chinese in Cambodia.However,the goverment doesn't make any policy which can promote the sustainable development of Chinese language.Cambodian Chinese Council plans the development of the Cambodian Chinese School,but the out-dated teaching management model,situation that sitting out of the national education system and the teaching orientation of "mother language" has limited the development of Chinese teaching.Despite the fact that there are good cultural atmosphere and small sized class,the unreasonable curriculum and the out-dated teaching methods are not conducive to the improvement of Chinese teaching quality.Secondly,we analyze the implementation of the comparative sentences teaching from two aspects:teachers' teaching and students' learning.Through the analysis of teachers' teaching,we find that the difficult teaching materials,the unreasonable arrangement of the comparative sentences and the out-dated teaching methods are the main reasons leading to the inefficiency of comparative sentences.In terms of student learning,we find that the students' admission age is normally young,at around 5-6 years old,most of whom are Chinese descendants.But most can not speak Chinese before they are enrolled.Despite their strong motivations,students can't take conscious actions in their studies.Because of the lack of output,bad learning strategies and inappropriate communication,the acquisition of the comparative sentences is very poor.Aside from the "X bi Y +Adj",the error rate of the other sentences is very high.Thirdly we analyze the specific errors of the comparative sentences and categorize the error type into three parts:component errors of the comparative sentences,errors of the sentence choosing and other errors.Then we divide them into specific subclasses under the major categories,analyze the specific error by the error analysis theory,explain the cause of the error and put forward teaching suggestions.Lastly we make suggestions on the teaching of comparative sentences in the Chinese school of Cambodia.
