Chinese society is a holistic rural form and there was no essential division between the city and the countryside in the past times. However, with the emergence of modern city, the living standards of urban residents has been greatly improved, and rural development has not been given enough attention since modern times, thus urban and rural areas became two different living spaces, which has seriously affected the relationships of people and space, people and society, and people to people.Along with the development of modernization, especially since the reform and opening in China, the difference between urban and rural areas has a tendency to expand. And the imbalanced characteristics of current urban-rural relationship of China have been caused by historical reasons, impropriety coordination of urban and rural development, and unbalanced urban and rural economic development due to the dual social structure. The process of urban and rural integration is manifested mainly by the flows of different social space materials, population and other elements, which would inevitably lead to the adjustment of social structure, and the social transformation are also well mapped in social spaces. The main contents of the present paper are as follows.Firstly,On the basis of Marxist theory of social space and the development of urban and rural society, the paper studies the historical and institutional changes of urban-rural relations in China, and discusses the essential relationship between urban space and rural space as well as the intrinsic relations of the opposite structures.Secondly, based on the "space turn" background of China and the west counties, the paper analyzes the specific problems of "the differentiation of geography" and the "alienation of social space" in China's new urban-rural relationship, and explores space elements in the process of urban and rural integration in China.Thirdly, according to the theory of "social space"' the paper proposes to adjust the relationship between urban and rural areas and develop productive forces, expand the new space, and confirm the significance of optimizing the spatial relations in the current urban and rural social transformation.Fourthly, under the background of Marxism in China, the paper holds that it is the inherent requirements of the theory of socialist space justice and the Chinese Marxist theory to break the dual structure of urban and rural areas in China and to establish the new urban-rural relationships.Urbanization is the main trend of social development today, and also is a symbol of human civilization.Modern history is the history of transformation from rural form to urbanization, which is scientific judgment of human social development made by the Marxist theory, and also is great current practice of China's new urban and rural relations.
