Guangqian Zhu(1897-1986),coming from Tongcheng city Anhui province,is a well-known esthetician,literary theorist,translator and educator.As the founder of China modern aesthetics,he has enjoyed a high reputation.At the same time,as an educator Mr Zhu attaches great importance to Chinese education,on which he has lots of experience,and particular understanding especially in reading theory.In view of the current situation that no promotion in reading teaching quality has occurred under the background of Chinese curriculum reform,the author suggests that rather than using the teaching experience of other countries for reference,it would be better to turn back to the traditional method to discuss and analyze the native Chinese teaching theory left over by the masters.By making use of beautiful and approachable languages,Mr Zhu has published a number of papers on how to read and study literature,which exerts great enlightenment on current Chinese course reform and provides practical instructions to Chinese teaching.Based on his teaching theory and related materials,the author attempts to give an analysis on current teaching and reading problems occurred in middle school,and find an effective solution to promote the reading level and civilized quality.This dissertation consists of introduction,text and conclusion.In the beginning,the reason and purpose of doing this research are given,the current development and approach applied for this research will also be introduced.The reading theory of Mr.Zhu,comprising “why we read”,“what to read” and “how to read”,will be reorganized in detail in second chapter.On the base of this theory,the author would like to figure out an effective solution to solve the problems existed in current Chinese teaching and reading.Comments on the reading theory of Mr.Zhu will also be given to manifest its great instruction on Chinese reading teaching.In the end,a conclusion to this dissertation and prospect for the future work would be made.
