Research On The Application Of Combination Weighting Approach In University Ranking

In recent years,with the university rankings hot rising up luxuriantly in China,some researchers have carried out related exploration on the university evaluation theory,methods and application research,and produced a number of widely affected and controversial research results.The difference between the results of the comprehensive evaluation of colleges and universities depends mainly on the selection of the index system and the selection of the application method.The most important question is to determine the weight coefficient of each index.The weight coefficient is determined by choosing which weight determination method.There are three main categories of application methods: subjective empowerment method,objective weighting method and combination weighting approach.The former two methods have both advantages and disadvantages.With the deepening of theoretical research,combination weighting approach often shows more superiority,and more and more favored by research scholars when weight is determined.In order to systematically compare the differences between the three methods of weighting in theory and practice,this paper takes the national commercial colleges as an example,and makes an in-depth study on the method of determining the weight of indicators and application in the comprehensive evaluation of colleges and universities.This article takes all the national commercial colleges as the research object,Based on the theory of comprehensive performance evaluation,subjective and objective weighting and combination weighting theory,this paper first introduces the research background,research significance,research content and ideas,research methods,research methods,Research characteristics and shortcomings.then analysis From four aspects of domestic and foreign research status: the historical process and development of the university rankings,the characteristics of the university rankings and the comparative research,the related research of the ranking methods and the literature review.And then introduce the main methods of subjective and objective weighting and combination weighting in detail,and finally Construct the comprehensive evaluation index system which reflects the development level of the commercial colleges from the Two Aspects of Personnel Training and Scientific Research.By using analytic hierarchy process,entropy method and combination weighting method to determine the weight coefficient,then use the Coefficient of variation method to compare the weight coefficient.Finally,the combination weighting method is used to evaluate the national commercial colleges.The following three main conclusions are drawn from the analysis:(1)In the ranking of national commercial colleges,it is necessary to establish the index system of rankings.This paper embodies the characteristics of commercial colleges when establishing the ranking index system.Evaluation index system framework is based on "personnel training,scientific research",three indicators also have focused on scientific research and practical strength of the indicators.(2)The combination of weighting approach has the good advantages and applicability to determine the weight coefficient of the evaluation index of the commercial colleges from the subjective and objective levels.By using the coefficient of variation,Make a comparison with Linear Weighting Method of Combination Weighting and the Analytic Hierarchy Process of Subjective weighting and Entropy Method of Objective Weighting,It can see that the weight of index is more reasonable and stable.(3)The results of the ranking of commercial colleges using the combination of weighting method have a certain degree of scientific and reference.The results of the ranking of commercial colleges using the combined weighting approach are compared with the results of the domestic influencing rankings(Wu ShuLian list,the net list,alumni list,China Science Evaluation Research Center),Found that Ranking in front of the institutions to remain basically unchanged,for the ranking of institutions ranked later have a little change,but the overall ranking tends to be stable.
