Reflective teaching is a process that teachers,with their own teaching behavior as reflection objects,review and analyze their ideas occured in the process of teaching and then transform them into new teaching behavior to promote teaching abilities.It is teachers' understanding,inspecting and thinking for personal belief,experience,attitude,knowledge and value as well as the environment.Reflective teaching can not only promote the growth of English teachers themselves,but also optimize teaching ability.Therefore,it gains more and more attention from researchers in English and English teachers.The author's study is based on two classes in the fifth grade of a primary school in Jilin Province.The author herself is the English teacher of the two classes.The study adopts a method of combining quantitative and qualitative analysis.Questionnaire,classroom observation and test are used to carry out the experiment.The whole process takes one semester.The results show reflective teaching is helpful to improve learning interest in English study in the degree of active in class,the quality of homework and the attitude to learn English.And it is also helpful to improve the students' English level in vocabulary,grammar and reading.The study also gives some inspiration to the development of primary school English teachers and the improvement of English quality of primary school students.English teachers should clearly recognize the importance of reflective teaching and accumulate professional knowledge in daily teaching and life so as to use reflective teaching in class flexibly and skillfully.At the end of the paper,the author summarizes some deficiencies and limitations in this study and provides some suggestions for future reflective teaching researchers.
