The Effect Of Parenting Styles On 3-6 Years Old Children's Pro-social Behaviors

Parenting style in children's pro-social behavior plays a key role in the development process.Good parenting style is conducive to the development of young children's pro-social behavior,but bad parenting style blocks effect on development of children's pro-social behavior.Because of 3-6 years old children in physical and mental development of multiple critical period,exploring the effect of parenting styles on 3-6 years old children' s pro-social behaviors become more and more important.This study focuses on the subject of 3-6 years old children from two ordinary kindergarten: basic class(3-4 years old),medium class(4-5years old),advanced class(5-6 years old),a total of 329 children and their parents as the research object.And the author used “3-6 years old children's pro-social behavior questionnaire” and “the investigation questionnaire of the parenting styles of parents”.All the data were analyzed by SPSS,the conclusions are as follows:1.The parenting styles on the children's age are different.3-6 year-old children's parents in democratic parenting have highest score,and in neglectful parenting has lowest score.In the stage of 3-4 years old,permissive parenting is obviously higher than the other age groups.With democratic parenting style is given priority,but there is still a certain proportion of permissive parenting,neglectful parenting and inconsistent parenting.2.The characteristics of children's pro-social behavior: on the whole,children's pro-social behaviors of each dimension are developing well,the score difference is not big,but cooperative and moral behaviors are better than sharing and comforting.3.The Effect of Parenting Styles on 3-6 years old children's Pro-social Behaviors: The development of children's pro-social behaviors affected by parenting styles.Democratic parenting style was significant positively related to children's pro-social behavior,inconsistent and neglectful parenting style associated with children's pro-social behavior exists negative.Democratic parenting style can be used as a development of 3-6 years old children's pro-social behavior prediction factors.At the same time,it is suggested that democratic parenting should be advocated;cultivating independent capacity of young children;parents shouldn't indulge and repress their children;mastering the skills of praise and criticism;parents need to be consistent in parenting styles.
