The Standard of Chinese Language Curriculum in the Full-time Compulsory Education(latest edition)makes concrete stipulations on the junior-grade writing.Writing words means you are interested in writing what you want to say,what is in the imagination and what’s your cognition and thought about the things around you.The students are expected to apply the words and phrases mastered in reading and in daily life and use the comma,the period,the question mark and the exclamation mark in accordance with the needs to express meanings.This new standard lowers the difficulty of writing and emphasizes that writing words is the basic phase of writing for students in the first and second grades of the elementary school.This is in conformity with the rules of physical and mental development of the elementary students.In practice,however,the teaching process is full of a series of issues,including inadequate attention from teachers,lack of systematic guidance,lack of interest from students and improper use of punctuation marks.Therefore,more attention should be paid to the writing words for lower-grade junior students.This thesis,based on the research on teachers and students of the first and second grades in three elementary schools in Minquan County,Henan Province,analyzes the issues and makes proposals to improve writing words teaching in elementary education.On the basis of domestic and foreign research papers and personal teaching practices,this paper compiles questionnaire for teachers to get a real understanding of the writing teaching.Since it is not suitable to do the questionnaire survey for the young students,this paper summarizes the students’ issues by assembling their test papers.Based on such materials,this paper lists the following issues on the part of the students,including nonstandard writing,unsmooth sentences,improper punctuation,improper use of data.The issues on the part of the teachers include inadequate attention,single teaching mode and evaluation standard,and narrow coverage.Therefore,this paper puts forward suggestions in changing mind and improving practice.
