As the basic source that students in middle school obtain historical knowledge,the compilation of the history textbooks is growing more and more important.The content of the history textbooks has a lot to do with their rules and layout.The history textbooks in middle school should adopt a more scientific rule and layout with adequate contents so that students can be more accessible to the historical events.The history textbooks of numerous kinds compiled by People's Education Press after the foundation of People's Republic of China aim to improve our history textbooks' rules and layout.The thesis consists of four parts.The first part is on the analysis of rules and layout of history textbooks based on the late Tang dynasty.Five great events concerning the collapse of the Tang dynasty should be paid great attention.The failure to analyze this part will influence the compliance of the three principles that elaborated in the first part and affect the students' mastery of the knowledge.The secondpart is based on zhe analysis mentioned above,making a samlie text.The thirdpart is about the analysis of three characteristics that history textbooks should demonstrate,that is temporal sequence,systematicity and characteristic.In the analysis of the temporal sequence,the importance of history textbooks can be shown by introducing compilation of chronological history books and some specific cases.In the analysis of systematicity,the compilation of history textbooks can be shown by introducing books full of history presented in separate accounts of important events with the systematicity.In the analysis of characteristics,it can be shown by introducing the compilation of books full of history presented in a series of biographies and the Chinese ancient history theory full of materialism,such as the Spring and Autumn Annals,the Mencius,and the Historical Records.The fourth part is about some tips on the compilation of history textbooks.The history textbooks should take in the advantages of ancient history books and abandon their weaknesses.They should be compiled according to education regularity,students' psychology and history.In terms of how to follow the education regularity,I expound on the history textbooks' content,usefulness of the history knowledge,timeliness and duration,the reflection of national conditions.In terms of how to follow students' psychology regularity,I expound on education and psychology theory.In terms of how to follow the nature of the subject of history,I expound on the history textbooks' science,richness,education,the combination of abstractness and concreteness,the combination of Reality and past.
