A Study On The Course Of Oral Communication In Art Majors

Broadcasting & Hosting Art professional eduacation have passed about fifty years' storm and stress in China.An integrated construction of the teaching sequence that include college,undergraduate,master and PhD has been completed,which not only has a wide influence in broadcast television and art area but also branch out into speech communication and cultural dissemination area.At present,many non-art colleges and universities have opened Broadcasting & Hosting program.The development of Broadcasting & Hosting Art presents overheated situation,which nerver seen before or after.However,there are many urgent issues in the process of development;the theory construction is relatively weak.The Academic Vision is relatively limited.The teaching is experience and skill training based.The distinction of the level of talent cultivation is not obvious.The competitiveness of graduates is insufficient for a long time.These issues will be researched from the perspective of Speech Communication curriculum in this dissertation.In the introduction section,the background,meaning and purpose are presented.Through the literature review,achievements from international and domestic academics in Broadcasting & Hosting Art are reviewed.At the same time,research methods,the main content and innovations in this dissertation are also stated.In the final part of this section,difficulities of the study and existing issues are illustrated.In the second section,related concepts and theories that may be engaging in are summarized.Broadcasting & Hosting,Speech Communication and Curriculum Provision are defined by the research of literatures.Uncertainty reduction theory and social exchange theory in Speech Communication are stated,which can be the theoretical foundation and directions of the reform in the system of education and Curriculum Provision in Broadcasting & Hosting.In the third section,the development vein and academic evolution of speech communication are elaborated systematically,understanding the history,the development and the establishment of speech communication education.The new direction of the development of digital age based on speech communication provides reference significance for talent cultivation of Broadcasting & Hosting Art.The communication process is regarded as bidirectional.The research emphasis not only focuses on the information production,reception and nterpretation,but also emphasizes rhetoric,persuasion,negotiation,conflict resolution and sharing of meaning that are involved in above processes.For the the research and the application of above speech communication theories,education systems of Communication University of China and Taiwan Shih Hsin University bring greate reference value and referential value.The research in the fourth section is based on speech communication curriculum.The necessity of setting speech communication curriculum of Broadcasting & Hosting Art in universities of science and technology is anlyzed,which is not only the requirement of school personnel training but also for students' development.According to the analysis of relevant data from the survey,it is recongised that creative activities of Broadcasting & Hosting are classical speech communication pattern;the situation of students' speaking ability is combed by the combination of the dominant character of phonetic appearance and the recessive character of linguistic thought,which realize the attitude from students to speech communication curriculum and the degree of satisfaction of teaching effectiveness.Five problems have been found;(1)The type of course is not various,which influences students ' enthusiasm.(2)Course offering is limited by characteristics of the subject.(3)The implement of outer-class teaching channels is not clear.(4)The requirement of high-level speech communication talents from media can not be met.(5)The cultivate space for speech communication talents for other areas is insufficient.The research in the fifth section is based on the survey of students' speaking ability of Broadcasting & Hosting Art in universities of science and technology,focusing on the cultivation of students' speech communication ability,and taking emphasizing practical teaching as the purpose,which optimizes the development tactic of Broadcasting & Hosting Art.It is proposed that universities of science and technology take existing advantages to build an eduaction system centered on pratical ability,which guides students to take announcers and presenters oriented to broadcast,television and network media as the main employment direction,as well as business negotiations,marketing planning and speech teaching,becoming high-level speech communication talents who master basic theories of broadcasting & hosting and essential professional abilities,serving for the construction of the socialist market economy more comprehensively.
