The Application Status And Countermeasures Study On Task-Based Language Teaching In Elementary School Senior Grades

Task-based language teaching(TBLT),as a kind of “learning by doing” teaching,makes learners use target language to communicate on purpose and exercise how to use the language.Elementary education is the preliminary phase of English learning.The application of TBLT in elementary English teaching is of significance to improve students' English learning motivation and develop students' language application consciousness.Since the new curriculum reform,elementary teachers have been applying TBLT in their teaching,but some of them also feel confused about how to use TBLT more efficiently.This study analyzes the core concepts,theoretical basis,overseas and domestic research status in literature review and summarizes the application of TBLT in elementary school senior grades from teaching link of TBLT,teachers' understanding and using of TBLT,the application conditions of TBLT.The research methods also include questionnaire survey,class observing and interview.This study further analyzes the problems and causes in TBLT applying.Problems are summarized as inadequate task using in class,limitation of teachers' theory and practice,restrictions from the traditional classroom,structural orientation from the test.On the basis of status survey and analysis of problems and causes,this study provides some practical suggestions for application of TBLT in elementary school senior grades.The suggestions include using TBLT deeply in real context,improving teachers' understanding and applying ability of TBLT,using school-based curriculum and task hierarchy to improve the application of TBLT,giving consideration to knowledge and ability in evaluation,using TBLT in review and homework.
