Recently,scientific literacy has been paid attention to by researchers who work on science education and science popularization,and has been their primary matter.As domestic boom lifts waves of curriculum reform,teaching reforim has been keeping on flourishingly in all kinds of schools at all levels in our country.At present,the main goal of the new curriculum reform in China is to carry out quality education,and to improve student's scientific literacy levels.Infantile normal school teaching reform in China,however,is relatively lagging behind.Preschool teachers still has many problems with the requirement of the education of cultivate children's scientific literacy,and it is not easy for them to take on the important task of enlightenment education.Preschool teacher students will be the young children teacher in the future,and the scientific literacy level of preschool teacher students may have decisive effect on the child science education quality,also directly affect the formation for the scientific literacy of children.So,the main purpose and the significance of this paper is how to improve the scientific literacy level of preschool teacher students,and to promote the causes of early childhood education.According to the international general scientific literacy investigaton,a new seientific literacy investigation about preschool teacher students and kindergarten teacher is made.It is based on the four infantile normal school in Henan province,the author surveyed a total of 600 preschool teacher students and 60 kindergarten teachers.The result showed that there are still a lot of problems,for example:the way of achieving the knowledge is dieffrent;attidude toward seience and responsibility is not good;in the science attitude,they is not affected science knowledge and science methods;the way of seience study is not been understood;their investigation ability in chemical experiment and experimental design ability are quite poor;putting the seience into practice is not good at;with poorly understanding chemical history of science and related chemical frontier;they are lacy of creativity and the independen spirit.Infantile normal school undertakes the main task of cultivating prospective preschool teachers.In infantile normal school the chemistry teaching plays a crucial role in developing and improving the scientific literacy of prospective preschool teachers.According to the survey,considering the lack of the scientific competence of the preschool teacher students and the needs of infant science teaching,and combining the author's own experience in teaching,the author has been carrying out teaching reforms:renewing teachers' ideas and then making teachers strive to be research oriented teachers,doing a good job in classroom teaching and helping their students construct a good knowledge system.In the practical teaching the author summarizes the "Seven-Step Teaching Method" and the simulation teaching method.The author randomly divides six classes involved in the investagation into two groups:three classes for the experimental classes,and the other three classes for the ordinary classes.In the practical case-based teaching lessons,with the comparison method,the author has an investigation analysis report on the teaching effcets of the chemistry class in the preschool teacher students,which shows that the students in the experimental classes perform more attentively in class than the average classes,and that in the practical case-based teaching lessons,under the guidance of their teacher,the number of the students positively thinking in the experimental classes is 22 percent higher than that in the average classes.Therefore,the"Seven-Step Teaching Method"is feasible in practice.By carrying out the "science small booth" and the students designing the experiment and so on,both the experimental operating ability and scientific thinking ability of preschool teacher students can be improved.What's more,in teaching the author intersperses the history of chemistry and shows the beauty of chemistry so as to cultivate the students' scientific literacy naturally.The students are guided to take an active part in various forms of extracurricular activities,such as social investigation,chemical knowledge lectures and chemical knowledge competitions,and gradually the students show interest in chemistry and learn it so actively that they cultivate their own scientific literacy.Finally,the research of the implementation of teaching strategies for experimental and ordiary classes is carried out,which shows that the improvement of chemistry science literacy of the experimental classes was much greater than that of the normal classes,and proves the teaching strategy is feasible and effective.
