Mass culture,a kind of cultural phenomenon since industrial revolution,is often spread and presented through the mass media(Internet,television,newspapers,magazines,etc.).Mass culture has become the main cultural product affecting the contemporary way of thinking and behavior habits.Teenagers are a group deeply influenced by mass culture,which should and could be the recessive course resources to be reckoned with in schooling.The proper use of mass culture,not only won't lead to the alienation of traditional culture for students,but it will help them stay awake and cultivate rational thinking in the cultural revolution.But,in fact,our current school education has a low rate of exploitation and comprehensive utilization in the resources of mass culture.Besides,there are still the problems of unclear theoretical knowledge and inadequate practical experience.This paper carries out a comprehensive analysis,and puts forward the specific method to introduce the mass culture into Chinese teaching of the middle school.This paper comprises introduction,main body and the appendix.The introduction,from the perspective of the people's understanding of mass culture,objectively expounds the reasons behind proper exploitation and utilization of the mass culture resources,and illustrates its important value to Chinese teaching of the middle school.Meanwhile it elaborates the predecessors' research results related to this subject.And it also points out the research method and research approach in this paper;Finally,it gives a definition of the basic concept of mass culture.The first chapter mainly discusses the necessity of introducing Chinese reading of middle school to mass culture.The first quarter,with diachronic and synchronic study approach,demonstrats the unique and precious artistic value of mass culture in the era of changing aesthetic orientation and personalized aesthetic tastes.The second quarter presents the main developing venation of mass culture in literary studies,thus proving the value orientation of academic circles towards mass culture,which changes from the overall boycott to overall acceptance till to critical acceptance,and it provides the theoretical source to mass culture for Chinese teaching.The third quarter,from the new requirements for the form and content of comtemporary text,points out the necessity of introducing media text into Chinese reading teaching in middle school.The second chapter is mianly about the introduction of what type of mass culture.The first quarter,from the aspects of thought,insists that the mass culture with violence and sex as the selling point must be resolutely resisted in the introduction of Chinese reading teaching into high school.On this basis,we should avoid the pure entertainment of mass culture,but to select the one of higher aesthetic value.The second quarter,from the technical level,points out that the database of mass culture should be actively established in the society or school,and extensively collects high quality mass culture resources from foreign language teaching material,education institutions and the Internet.The third quarter,from the content level,proposes to regard teaching objectives and teaching content as the guidance and selects the mass culture which has a relationship with the text according to different teaching requirements.Or we can select the alternative one,when the relationship above is not obvious,but it has the typical significance and practical value.The second chapter is mianly about the introduction of what type of mass culture.The expand extensive reading.Thus we can understand the historical evolution of the prototype characters,and explore the deep reason why the plot and aesthetic connotation in the text may change in the process of the evolution of social values and aesthetic artistic style.The second quarter introduces the mass culture centered teaching mode to develop tracing type reading.That is to say,we will guide the student to trace the prototype characters and complex personality in the original text so as to learn the deep connotation and the original aesthetic value of the text brought by the muitiple interpretation theory.The third quarter introduces media based teaching mode to carry out cultivating reading.In this process,we should grasp basic tendency of mass culture and understand the basic characteristics of the medium critically and select a specific mass culture to inteprete from different perspectives.The appendix provides three teaching cases which are the temptation of taking mass culture as the implementation approach to the core teaching content.
