With the advent of the new media era, mobile phones become increasingly powerful. And the emergence of electronic devices such as tablet, electronic readers and other equipment, making the way people read a huge change, which fragmented reading has become a very common way of reading. Fragmented reading has become a part of study and life of college students who are willing to accept new things. On the basis of investigation and research, this paper makes a systematic discussion on the phenomenon and problems of fragmented reading. The full text is divided into three parts except the introduction.The first part is an overview of fragmented reading. In the digital media era, on the basis of the traditional way of reading to be preserved, new ways of reading are emerging and have formed the coexistence of traditional reading and new reading mode. Fragmented reading is the use of fragmented time through mobile phones,computers, digital TV, tablet, reader and other digital terminals online fragmented content to read. Fragmented reading has the characteristics of short length, spread quickly, fresh and interesting. The popularity of the Internet, The emergence of new media equipment, the dramatic increase in social platforms, the compression of reading time and the reduction in reading costs led to the emergence and persistence of fragmented reading. Fragile reading is of great significance to college students,specifically in the ability to solve the life and study of college students to make it better to integrate into the group, stimulate interest in learning, increase knowledge reserves.The second part through the Nanchang University and other three universities students of more than 500 students conducted a questionnaire survey to know their fragmented reading status and the existing problems, and analyze the causes behind the problem. The results showed that most of students had fragmented reading behavior,And more through the phone before going to bed. Fragmentation read will lead to college students have psychological anxiety, causing physical illness, affect the effect of reading and even lose the ability to think deeply. The reason for these problems is the increase of social pressure, the change of supervision mode, the limitation of psychological function and the lack of spirit of study and so on.The third part puts forward some suggestions for improving the fragmented reading of college students. In view of the problems and causes of the fragmentation of college students, the author puts forward some suggestions for improvement from the government departments, schools and college students themselves. Relevant regulatory authorities should increase supervision and enhance media literacy. Schools should improve the library construction, create a good reading atmosphere and properly adjust the course, reading should be included as part of the course. College students themselves should improve the ability to distinguish information, screening useful information and should learn to integrate fragmented information to build their own knowledge systems.
