As the core discipline of middle school, Mathematics attracts a lot of attention from teachers?students?parents and other education workers. For most of students, mathematics is their short subject because of its abstract content and changeable question type. Turn to someone for help, especially teachers, is a very effective way to make up for one's own weak points. However, avoidance of help-seeking still abound in school nowadays, which should arouse the attention of educators.Based on literature analysis and interview, I designed mathematics academic help-seeking attitude scale?help-seeking behavior scale?perception of teachers'support scale and mathematics academic self-concept scale. After analyzing the reliability and construct validity of the initial scale, some items were eliminated to form the formal scale. Through the descriptive analysis?difference analysis and correlation analysis of 166 valid formal scale, I came to the following conclusions:First, grade 7 students' mathematics academic help-seeking attitude and help-seeking behavior are generally positive, there are no obvious differences in gender, while the differences between different types of classes can not be ignored: The students in the experimental class scored more points in benefits of help-seeking and instrumental help-seeking than regular class, but in executive help-seeking and avoidance of help-seeking the scores are lower than regular class.Second, grade 7 students' perception of mathematics teacher's support is enough overall, the differences between different types of classes and different gender are statistically remarkable: girls scored more points in emotional support than boys, the students in the experimental class scored more points in academic support ability than regular class.Third, grade 7 students' mathematics academic self-concept is good overall, the differences between different types of classes and different gender have reached significant level: boys scored more points in achievement-self and capacity-self,experimental class students' mathematics academic self-concept level is generally higher than regular class students.Four, the three dimensions of perception of mathematics teacher's support was positively correlated with benefits of help-seeking?instrumental help-seeking and negatively correlated with costs of help-seeking from teachers?avoidance help-seeking.Executive help-seeking was positively correlated with emotional support and negatively correlated with academic support will?academic support ability.Five, the three dimensions of mathematics academic self-concept was. positively correlated with benefits of help-seeking?instrumental help-seeking and negatively correlated with costs of help-seeking from teachers?executive help-seeking.Costs of help-seeking from classmates?avoidance of help-seeking were negatively correlated with emotional-self and positively correlated with achievement-self?capacity-self.At last, according to the above conclusions, I put forward some teaching advice and reflect on the shortcomings of this study.
