Firstly, the study compiled the scale of self-concept on junior middle school students in the northwest China region, the scale of academic help-seeking attitude on junior middle school students, the scale of academic help-seeking behaviour on junior middle school students. The task was completed by collecting documentary resources and consulting relevant scales. Scales analysis applied both EFA and CFA. 774 junior middle school students from Shan xi, Gan su, Ning xia, Xin jiang were measured formally by scales. The study used 4(region)x3(Grade)x2(sex) multivariate analysis of variance, made path analysis about self-concept on junior middle school students in the northwest China region and academic help-seeking.Secondly, the study used qualitative method to analyse some students of the measure study by open-ended questionnaire and research interview.Thirdly, 171 junior middle school students from Jia yuguan were as subjects in electronic monitoring study. 154 students were as final subjects by selection, and thestudy divided the subjects into three groups-high frequency academic help-seekinggroup, middle frequency academic help-seeking group, low frequency academic help-seeking group. The self-concept differences were analysed by the method of one-way analysis of variance, and the study made path analysis about self concept and academic help-seeking.Finally, the study drew a total conclusion and answered the following three questions, (1) In order to improve the frequency of academic help-seeking on junior middle school students in the northwest China region, wheather it is necessary to intervene self- concept; (2) If it is necessary to intervene self-concept, what component should to be emphasized; (3) What is the mediator from self-concept to academic help-seeking. The study offered some educational and psychological intevention measures.
